Forensics to the Rescue 
Crime and forensic science intrigue minds and arouse curiosity. Our forensic experts are passionate about sharing their experiences and knowledge to inspire young audience to build a strong foundation in the sciences, acquire good habits and character, and not “play with the law”. There is no perfect crime; the Law will get you eventually if you tout with it.
Through this interactive talk, students will:
- Gain an overview of the criminal justice system in Singapore, and understand the role that forensic scientists play in the criminal justice system;
- Be aware of key concepts in forensic science and the different types of physical evidence encountered in a crime;
- Gain an understanding of the importance of applying logical reasoning to the recognition, collection and preservation of evidence;
- Be intrigued by how forensic science helped to provide answers to the “who”, what”, “where”, “when”, “why” and “how” of a crime through the sharing of local case studies from practicing forensic scientists.
Scientists on Fire 
Fire destroys evidence, but sometimes, it also creates evidence. Find out how science helps fire investigators and forensic scientists to determine the cause and origin of a fire. Be excited by how knowledge learnt in school on combustion, convection, conduction etc. are used to explain fire growth and development.
Through this talk, students will:
- Be aware of the science behind fire: how it starts, develops and grows;
- Gain an understanding of various fire patterns: how they are formed and what information they provide;
- Learn about laws related to fire in Singapore;
- Be intrigued by how concepts learnt in school can be applied in real-life scenarios.
